Our Team
Our goal is
to sensitize our customers, borrowers, partners and employees to the need to
apply in our daily lives a concept of sustainability aimed at making this a
better world.
As a travel company that interacts with various tourism stakeholders,
namely consumers, tour guides, travel agencies, hotels, transportation
companies, restaurants and attractions, we at Altái Cuba understand our key
role and influence in the sustainable development of tourism. That is why we
are committed to promoting sustainability. Our goal is to follow, implement and
promote good sustainability practices, to maximize the positive and minimize
the negative impacts of our tourism operations, and to influence our clients
and partners to do the same.
Our sustainability policy is divided into 10 themes. Each theme consists
of a set of principles and related practical actions.
1. Sustainability management and legal compliance
We are
committed to sustainability management, and to compliance with all legislation,
regulations and national codes of practice.
2. Internal management: social policy and human rights
We are
committed to sustainable internal management through a clear, written and well
communicated social policy.
We are
committed to practicing human rights by ensuring compliance with the following
practices:
- Prohibit
discrimination with regard to hiring, conditions of employment, access to
training and senior positions, or promotion in terms of gender, race, age,
disability, ethnicity, religion/belief or sexual orientation;
- Ensure
that all employees have equal opportunity and access to resources and
opportunities for personal development through regular training and education;
3. Internal management: Environment and community relations
We are committed to practicing environmental
protection and improving community relations. We measure energy and water use,
as well as the use of consumer and disposable goods, and seek alternatives to
reduce them.
4. Partner agencies
Based on an
inventory of our main partner agencies, we have developed and implemented a
policy to improve the sustainability of our partner agencies. Our goal is to
concretize sustainable development in each and every one of our company's
partners.
5. Transportation
We try to ensure that the vehicles used on excursions
do not cause above-average pollution. We believe that transportation is an
important aspect of sustainable tourism, and we do our best to lower the
average level of pollution.
6. Accommodations
We seek to achieve a tourism supply chain that is
fully sustainable. The partner accommodations play an important role in
achieving this, and are encouraged and motivated to adopt sustainable
practices
7. Excursions and activities
We highly value the welfare of the animals and the
community, and our goal is that the excursions leave only a small footprint. We
safeguard the authenticity of communities and the natural environment, and are
strongly opposed to harming wildlife and polluting the environment.
8. Tourist leaders, local representatives and guides
Our goal is to involve as many local people as
possible by employing them in the tourism business. We advocate a fair and safe
working environment that supports and respects local communities.
9. Destination
Our goal is to maximize the positive and minimize the
negative impacts on the destination to ensure the sustainable development of
the places where we operate.
10. Communication and customer
protection
The well-being and information of our clients are very
important to us. In Altái Cuba, we guarantee clear and constant communication
and a high level of protection to our clients, before, during and after the
trip. We financially support environmental organizations. We also support
ecological initiatives in tourism in close relationship with local
communities.
